Six Words, One Org, Your Story

Hello there everyone! Thank you so much for contributing to the first online writing activity! This is a sample of what to expect in the future. Most online activities will involve the creation of really short themed works. The point is to keep all of us writing, so don't be shy about sending even your not-so-good works. No week shall pass with us having no literary creations!

Expect a new activity each week. We encourage you to make it a habit to submit so you can also see how much progress you're making over the weeks. Plus, we'd love to read and publish more of your works in the future!

Feel free to comment, ask and react :D Now for the juicy part!

Workshop Announcement

Start:
Post Secret Activity
Hi guys! We've extended the Post a Secret prompt so that our new members can formally participate on this as our very first online activity!

What is the Post that Secret activity?
If you are unfamiliar with the group Post Secret (postsecret.blogspot.com):
Post Secret is an online community which asks people from around the world to create and mail post cards depicting their secret: a secret of any kind. PostSecret then posts the best ones anonymously. The entries are all potential material for your own stories! Check them out to see what I mean.

Instructions
This funshop is going to use post cards submitted by PostSecret as prompts for writing. You are free to write fiction, creative non-fiction, drama or poetry.

1. Pick one postcard you would like to use / deal with. Write down and remember the number of said post card / s.
2. That post card's message may be used as a theme for your work, as an actual secret that is revealed, or as an event that unfolds. You are free to interpret, add to or embellish the secret as you wish. Bonus points for including the images found in your post card.
3. Finish the "draft" page. Here you will write:
a. an initial problem in your work (theme, conflict, premise),
b. have a/some character sketches done, and
c. work out a sequential plot.
What is important here is not the prose, but how you want to present and arrange your work.
4.Feel free to ask any WriterSkill member for any help or suggestions. If you want opinions, post it up on the yahoo groups, and request for someone to run it down! (sorry there's no better system available as of yet!)
5. Once you've got a solid "draft" piece, WRITE YOUR STORY DOWN.
6. Deadline of completed works have been moved to August 7, Saturday!
7. To submit:

Subject: PostASecret-Lastname-Genre
for example: PostASecret-Villanueva-Fiction
